Choreographer Joe Brown

Precision and Synchronization

The one-on-one session with Choreographer Joe Brown will teach you the 2nd part of 3 beats to create a unique choreography for your performances. His usage of counts vs sound will allow you to accurately replicate his moves.

Born and raised in New York City, Joe’s passion for performance began as early as he can remember.  Cultivated by the underground urban dance scene as an all-styles freestyler and rich introduction to Broadway theater thanks to his older sister, his influence spans the world of dance and the performing arts.  Joe continued his passion for dance in Boston, pushing the envelope in traditional fraternity stepping and competition hip hop, all while studying mechanical engineering at MIT.  Now in Los Angeles, after receiving his masters degree in architecture at SCI-Arc, Joe works as a professional dancer, choreographer, instructor, and creative director.  His dual interests in both the technical and performative aspects of the entertainment industry continue to mesh as he explores the ever-present relationship of dance and architecture.  His experience in both fields have afforded him unique opportunities as both performer and designer.

Joe has worked with several prominent artists and creatives; most recently he performed and choreographed step-stroll inspired movement for Beyonce’s iconic Coachella performance.

His commercial and theatrical credits include The Voice, America’s Got Talent, VH1 Streamy Awards, BET Awards, Disney Imagineering, Rihanna’s ANTI Samsung campaign, Punchdrunk and numerous music videos and live performances with artists Nicki Minaj, Halsey, French Montana, Daddy Yankee, Dawn Richard, Jidenna, Taemin & more!  Each opportunity has influenced Joe to pioneer this fast-rising brand of his own, Stroll Groove: a dance company and style born out of his stepping experience that incorporates built immersive environments and percussive choreography.  Joe continues to establish his brand on both professional and community levels, teaching foundation classes and international workshops in the art of step performance entitled Step/Stroll at world-renowned studios like Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio.  He also is an Adjunct Professor in the Commercial Dance Department at the Studio School in LA.
